CSXP Explained: XP, Service Medals & Leaderboards

Updated and reviewed · csst.at glossary

CSXP.gg tracks Counter-Strike XP, service medals, commendations and collectibles. Its leaderboards rank account progression and collections. They measure different things from Premier rating, FACEIT Elo or match performance.

Open ZywOo's CS2 player profile for an example of how csst.at brings account and match sources together. A CSXP panel appears only when the source returns leaderboard positions for that account.

What does a CSXP leaderboard position mean?

The CSXP Leaderboards panel lists a board name and the account's position, such as #25. Select the name to open that board on csxp.gg and check what it ranks. csst.at sorts returned entries by position, with the lowest number first; it does not combine the boards into a single player score.

The first three positions receive gold, silver and bronze display colors on csst.at. These colors describe a board position, rather than the player's service-medal color. An empty list hides the panel; it does not mean the player has zero XP or no collectibles.

How do XP, service-medal and collectible boards differ?

  • Current-year service medal: ranks XP gained during the specified year.
  • Total XP: ranks total XP level, which covers a different period.
  • Commends: ranks commendation totals. Commends per Level uses a ratio and requires at least 100 total levels.
  • Collectibles: boards can rank rarity, collection size or ownership of particular medals, coins, pins and trophies.

Always read the board's criterion before comparing positions. A high rank on a collectible board does not establish match skill, and ranks on different boards are not interchangeable. Browse the CSXP collectible catalog for the items behind those boards.

Why is a CSXP profile missing or out of date?

CSXP's account collection is ongoing. Leaderboards rebuild hourly; listed profiles refresh daily, while other accounts can wait much longer. An hourly rebuild does not mean every account was fetched again.

Use CSXP search with the account's SteamID or profile link. Opening a source profile queues missing information, but an update is not immediate or a guarantee of a leaderboard entry. Game data can exist before a name or avatar is available. See the CSXP FAQ for refresh details and correction requests.

csst.at caches its CSXP response for up to two hours. Reloading can reuse that response, and it cannot make the source collect an account sooner.

Is CS2 XP level the same as Steam community level?

No. The Steam level beside the profile name belongs to the Steam community system. The XP level in the Steam panel comes from CS2 game-coordinator data. Its tooltip separates service-medal levels and progress toward the next medal level. It can differ from a CSXP snapshot collected at another time.
